THE MERRY CONCEITED HUMOURS OF BOTTOME THE WEAVER Based on A Midsummer Night's Dream, compiled by Robert Cox Directed by Luke Rowe Special Final Performance Friday August 8th at 1:00pm Perchance Theatre, Conception Harbour
“Attention: We’re seeking a royal audience to our production of Pyramus and Thisbe: a play about love and tragedy, hearts and hearts that are broken, compassion and non-compassionate things. Pyramus and Thisbe stars the in-affable Bottome as the tragic lover. Please be warned that one actor will be dressed as a lion. Do not be frightened, for he is not a real lion.” The Merry Conceited Humours of Bottome The Weaver is a 30-minute cut of A Midsummer Night’s Dream directed for young audiences. Kids and families are invited to watch Bottome be transformed into a donkey, The Fairy Queen fall in love, and the mischievous Puck see to Oberon’s masterplan, all while Quince and the Mechanicals just try to rehearse their play.
Shows are weather permitting, but will proceed in less than favourable conditions, provided it is safe for performers and audience alike. Bring a comfortable cushion, a blanket, picnic, rain coat, or sun hat as befits the ever changing NL weather!
