Social Event: The Great Big Tour Around with George (extra $$ - optional add-on - limited to 50)

Departing from the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland
This tour offers the unique opportunity to learn about St. John's history from a guide connected to the "Come From Away" musical. Visit iconic places including Cape Spear, Signal Hill, Petty Harbour, and more. George can answer any of your questions and provide recommendations for more hidden gems to see during your time in St. John's. Includes bus transportation and a fish and chips lunch at Seaside Fish and Chips at By The Beach in St. Phillip’s, NL (Non-fish/veg/gluten free options available)

Award winning actor George Masswohl starred as Gander Mayor Claude Elliott in the record-breaking Toronto production of Come From Away, playing to nearly a million people in its 2 and a half year run. George  is passionate about sharing this magical land with you!


  • 10AM Pickup at Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland
  • Travel to Cape Spear National Historic Site and Petty Harbour
  • 11:45AM Lunch (included) at By the Beach in St. Philip’s, a father and son fish place, right on the beach overlooking Conception Bay and Bell Island. (A local gem, known to be the best and freshest fish on The Avalon)
  • 12:45PM Visit Portugal Cove, Newfoundland’s earliest fishing settlement, dating back to 1500
  • 1:30PM Quidi Vidi Village
  • 2:15PM Signal Hill National Historic Site
  • 3:00pm Return to Sheraton or (optional): continue to George Street for more frivolity, and a set of music by Arthur O’Brien and George himself!​

Crow's Nest Officer's Club
Join us in the historic Crow's Nest Officer's Club that was founded during World War II for a unique experience. Kelly Russell holds the title of Newfoundland and Labrador's Tradition Bearer and is recognized across the province for his musicianship and commitment to preserving Newfoundland and Labrador’s traditional fiddle music. The show features the classic Tales from Pigeon Inlet by his father, Ted Russell, plus the music and stories of legendary fiddlers Rufus Guinchard & Emile Benoit. It has been described as "a delightful evening of humour and authentic Newfoundland folk music."

Accessibility Note:
The Crow’s Nest Officers’ Club is a treasured historic venue, filled with character and stories from its World War II origins. Please be aware that access is only by a steep staircase, and there is no elevator available.
Tickets are $35USD pp and are available for purchase via Whova. Limited to 50 attendees. Includes one (1) alcoholic (or non-alcoholic) beverage from the Crow's Nest Bar.
