Getting to and around St. John’s

Several airlines - including Air Canada,  PAL Airlines, Porter, Sunwing, and WestJet* - flight into St. John’s International Airport (YYT). You will likely need to connect through Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal or Halifax.

We recommend using a flight search tool, such as
Kayak, which lets you set an alert for when prices drop for seat sales.

Also, there is a Saint John in a nearby province of New Brunswick - make sure when you are booking the airport is St. John's and the code is YYT!

The airport is a 10-minute drive to the hotel and downtown St. John's - we have taxis and ride-sharing options aplenty, as well as all major rental car companies in terminal. There is public transportation but it is sparce and not recommended - if your pennies are tight, just let us know when you are coming in and we can send someone to pick ya up.

Yes, you *can* drive to St. John's but it is a very long and rather costly journey in the winter - Marine Atlantic operates a ferry from North Sydney, Nova Scotia that in January only arrives in Port aux Basques, on the other side of the island. Entry Requirements

Planning to travel to #STACON26 from a country other than Canada?
The Canada Border Service Agency will welcome you at your first Canadian entry point. Check out the Visit Canada page for detailed information on entry requirements from your country.

*Unfortunately, we have now learned that the WestJet direct flights from Europe to YYT will not be scheduled during the time of the conference - they only fly direct between May-October, so, yes, you will first need to fly OVER Newfoundland and then connect to fly back East here…it is very frustrating...
